Regarding clang, if someone sends a patch to get 3.9 working I'll update, otherwise, I'll just wait for 4.14. Anyone needing it sooner can build with clang 3.8 from the ALA:

@undefinedmethod RCL was telling me on github 4.14 will support it when released. Until then master was the best. Do you have those patches? I almost managed to get 4.13 to build with it, but stopped once I started getting issues in third party code.

4.14 doesnt work out of the box with 3.9. I made some minor changes to source to pull in different thirdparty libs and got it to compile.

So, Clang 3.9 works in 4.14. I think that should be out in about 2 weeks or so. In the mean time, I almost have a working set of patches up that will allow us to use 3.9 with 4.13.

Clang was just updated to 3.9. Has anyone gotten unreal to build with it?
Currently, looking into seeing if there is a fix. Regardless of whether the patch works or not, I'll have improvements for the PKGBUILD.

@Dijuna I was trying to reason out why it might be crashing. I believe Unreal through the buildsystem might have Windows dependencies needed by Mono.
On an unrelated note has anyone been having the engine crash lately?

@juancarlospaco this is easily done on your own system, not in a PKGBUILD, given that building packages runs as root:
Permission issues like this are already mentioned on the UE Arch wiki page: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Unreal_Engine_4#Installing_from_the_AUR
This is a user system problem; I already did what I could without needing users to do the above by giving the
777
