rilian, I don't have that installed, was it recently added as a make dependency? Either way, when I try to install vala-panel-appmenu-common-git first, yay decides to install vala-panel-appmenu-xfce-git first anyway. The build fails at that step. I will try uninstalling vala-panel-appmenu-xfce-git, updating common-git, and reinstalling xfce-git.

jextrevor , I updated PKGBUILD to meson already. You have budgie-desktop installed? It is a makedependency.

When trying to update to the latest version (either this package or vala-panel-appmenu-common-git), I get an error:

Did not find CMake 'cmake'
Found CMake: NO
Run-time dependency budgie-1.0 found: NO (tried pkgconfig)

vala-panel-appmenu/meson.build:66:0: ERROR: Dependency "budgie-1.0" not found, tried pkgconfig

Now all is well. Thanks!

Should be fixed now.

Same as @vegas, but I'm getting Can not find package name : [==> Mate applet enabled]

I can not install the package on Arch + XFCE. Yay writes: Can not find package name : [==> Xfce applet enabled] :(

Well, I'll be damned. I went ahead and cut all of the msg lines and it built successfully. Thanks for your response, I believe you somehow found the culprit.

I'm not sure exactly why it's breaking, but I managed to get the PKGBUILD to work by removing the "msg" lines (for the DE you're installing for, and for the general "if you'd like to disable...").

Is there any chance we can get this to build for Xfce again? Is there anything you need from me to help?
