This should now depend on python instead of python3. Does it really need python2 while building? If so, change the makedepend to python2.

Official in-source PKGBUILD (for inspiration, dependencies, etc.): https://svn.blender.org/svnroot/bf-blender/trunk/blender/build_files/package_spec/pacman/

Please add 'openal' to dependency list

Arch_Villain: it should work without it. I'll test again.

Got it working. For some reason, I'm not entirely sure of, it wouldn't work until I deleted the binary from /usr/bin and instead symlinked to <<PKGBUILD DIRECTORY>>/src/install/linux2/blender .Now it runs fine. Go figure.

Hmmm... Seems like it's not finding Python, even with PYTHONHOME=/usr/lib/python3.1 and BLENDER_SYSTEM_PYTHON=/usr/lib/python3.1

I also tried setting $BLENDER_USER_CONFIG and $BLENDER_SYSTEM_CONFIG to ~/.blender as well as $BLENDER_USER_SCRIPTS and $BLENDER_SYSTEM_SCRIPTS to ./blender/2.53/scripts Any ideas?

I'm getting the same problem as mosra. When I first tried, Blender complained it couldn't find /scripts/modules. I symlinked from /usr/bin/2.53 to /.blender/2.53 and that went away, but now I still get no interface in Blender and the following in the command line: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/bin/2.53/scripts/modules/bpy/__init__.py", line 29, in <module> from bpy import utils File "/usr/bin/2.53/scripts/modules/bpy/utils.py", line 30, in <module> from _bpy import home_paths, blend_paths ImportError: cannot import name home_paths search for unknown operator WM_OT_context_set_enum, WM_OT_context_set_enum RNA_string_set: OperatorProperties.data_path not found.
