These are binaries from upstream built in a different way, with different dependencies. For example, it is statically linked and has a hard dependency on pulseaudio for sound support.

The AUR guidelines on "duplicates" do not apply to packages like this. See previous discussion:

For this package, the description already clearly states: "Static binaries from upstream".

Actually, nothing useful ever came from that discussion. The closest we had gotten was using the naming scheme "foo-static-bin" or something to clearly denote its difference.

Ultimately, this needs an RFC since the whole situation is confusing.

Arch carries their x86_64 build of Firefox.
