@step-2 at most case it will not work, it's not like kernel, which nearly depends nothing on your system. And they usually add so many dist specific code. @quantumphaze, I'm sorry but I cannot provide precompiled package for arch, since I'm already using chakra for a long time. If anyone wants to take the responsibility to package it, just leave the comment to people know it.

for the maintainer : way not use a packaged version with the patches in it ( even .deb or .rpm ) and install it so we dont have to wait an hour or so for it to compile every time we update ... just a concern .

@govindarajulu This happened to me too, something went wrong after libffi upgrade. Just a simple workaround until it's fixed: sudo ln -s /usr/lib/libffi.so.6.0.0 /usr/lib/libffi.so.5 Firefox should open and compile after that.

not compiling/ opening after upgrading libffi 3.0.10-1 -> 3.0.11-1 /tmp/yaourt-tmp-hydrogen/aur-firefox-kde-opensuse/src/mozilla-release/obj-x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu/dist/bin/xpcshell: error while loading shared libraries: libffi.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory after upgrade its libffi.so.6

step-2: Looks like you ran out of space in /tmp
