The "chaotic-aur" co-maintainer is a bot that pulls any merged PR in https://github.com/chaotic-aur/pkgbuild-proton-ge-custom-bin back to this package. So if you guys have contributions or bump versions earlier than the maintainer, please share them as PRs. The commits will keep your authorship.

Happy gaming!

Might I suggest a custom entry in the compatibilitytool.vdf? I was hoping to symlink this into my steam compatibilitytools.d directory, but I foresee an issue when the version changes. Any games linked to that version cause a crash of Steam requiring you to reinstall the old version and change it manually again. If the version name is customized this shouldn't be an issue anymore.

Can we please get an update to version Proton-5.9-GE-2-MF hotfix.

@LevitatingRein sure,i have created another package for stable branch of proton-ge https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/proton-ge-custom-stable-bin

Levitating commented on 2020-06-09 21:17 (UTC)

Can we stick to the stable versions? I don't trust using the pre-releases.

I'm sorry for not updating this package in a while, it will be updated in the next few minutes

Good day. GE github page doesn't allow bug reports. It will be nice if you could tell them to drop custom gstreamer files. Thank you.

@artivision well, please note that media foundation is still not fully implemented. As of now, there are some release notes from GE regarding mf: "If you wish to re-disable media foundation to use this version with your other games, you can use WINEDLLOVERRIDES=mfplay=n %command% in the game's launch options."

I think there are also some options the redirect the use of libraries to system libs, but right now i don't have the time to look it up. Deleting these from the bundle will most likely not fix your problem.

Please try disabling mf like stated by GE and also read the RE2 specific release notes from GE by issueing 'pacman -Qc proton-ge-custom-bin'. Also consider reporting this bug to GE, as he can actually do something about it and needs bug reports like this.

Resident Evil 2 Remake and Media Foundation hung when the second scene starts. I wonder if i delete the Gstreamer file, proton will use system Gstreamer?

Jaja commented on 2020-04-19 08:59 (UTC)

@artivision when does this happen? How do you start your application? Better not delete anything from the bundle for the time being and check some things first.

@Jaja Deleting the block of the game and rechoosing the version worked fine, let's see if this problem occurs ever again. Thank you.
