For those who might ask why libva-vdpau-driver was added to conflicts.

It is the only way at package level to prevent the user to have segfaults because of this driver. This will not be fixed on OBS side since this is not an OBS issue.

The driver is only loaded with Nvidia cards.

Try libva-nvidia-driver if you really need Nvidia decode through VAAPI.

This package have some dependencies with version check, it will allow you to rebuild the package only when your system is correctly updated. This feature is not enabled on Manjaro.

If you have any issue, please before commenting rebuild this package (a clean build) and try again to make sure it's not because of a library update.

Pamac has a messed up dependency checker, use another AUR helper for the first install.

This AUR package provide OBS with all the missing feature except Twitch, Restream and YouTube integrations.

More explaination here: https://ideas.obsproject.com/posts/1558/

It provide any dependency needed for Wayland support.

It also contains some unmerged PR or backported fix documented in the PKGBUILD.

I'm quite active on OBS discord server (don't PM me directly), so if I saw something that need to be backported I add it.

After upgrading to libjxl 11 running obs gives: obs: error while loading shared libraries: libjxl.so.0.10: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Rolling it back fixed obs. Trying to rebuild with libjxl 11 fails.

Edit: sorry, Rebuidling DID infact work, i just messed up..

Latest libjxl 11 causes this to fail to build.

Can't click and drag sources into groups with latest version. Why is this simple thing disabled yet again The last time this got disabled it was disabled for 3 months because unrelated crashing issues that nobody seemed to figure out, and now it's just broken again.

@Sharparam, it is unrelated to FFmpeg. MbedTLS mess up with TLS v1.3 support, I added a workaround and got feedback that it works.

Sharparam commented on 2024-06-28 20:16 (UTC)

Maybe I'm missing something since nobody else seems to be commenting about it, but since the recent update to ffmpeg 7, this version of OBS is no longer able to stream to YouTube RTMPS, instead showing "Failed to connect to server". (Using HLS instead works, but doesn't support ultra-low latency streaming.)

In the logs can be seen:

22:09:34.729: [rtmp stream: 'adv_stream'] Connecting to RTMP URL rtmps://a.rtmps.youtube.com:443/live2...
22:09:34.892: RTMP_Connect1, TLS_Connect failed: -0x6c00
22:09:34.892: [rtmp stream: 'adv_stream'] Connection to rtmps://a.rtmps.youtube.com:443/live2 failed: -2

Couldn't find a lot about it searching the web, except one post on the Arch forums where they worked around it by using the flatpak version, and some issue reports on arch/ffmpeg (linked in that forum thread) that have been closed as resolved.

There's a comment in the issue about adding a new parameter to ffplay, but I don't know how relevant/applicable that is for OBS.

fyi this is missing the youtube studio control panel system. Seems the twitch one is there however. No solution found yet. (yes it exists for flatpak)

@shaybox, no problem it has been done as soon as I could…

…~4-5 months ago when OBS Studio 30 was released

Can you add an optional for onevpl-intel-gpu? I needed that to get QuickTime encoding to work on my Arc A380 GPU, it's also an optional for a few other packages but it took some time to find it.

@muflone obs-studio in the extra-Repo contains only the bare minimum to function. No Extras like Browser or VLC-Sources and all the other stuff tytan mentioned here more than one time, in the second pinned comment here and in the Package-Description which is more than clear by itself...

Don't really understand how all of this isn't clear enough for some people >.>
