This package is still relevant because multilib/wine-staging does not have wow64 mode enabled and/or has not dropped lib32 depends.

wow64 allows running 32-bit binaries without lib32 libraries. For more info:

Wayland support requires setting a registry variable. See Wine 9.0 Changelog.

wine reg.exe add HKCU\\Software\\Wine\\Drivers /v Graphics /d x11,wayland

Before flagging out of date, make sure staging patches have been updated.

wine-staging-wow64 9.17 does not see wine-mono 9.2.0 from the repository, because it expects wine-mono 9.3.0. As a temporary solution, until wine-mono is updated in the repository, you can trick wine by creating a link /usr/share/wine/mono/wine-mono-9.2.0 to /usr/share/wine/mono/wine-mono-9.3.0 it works fine, the main thing, in the future, is not to forget to delete it before updating wine-mono.

wine-mono has been updated to 9.3.0

It's missing because the option doesn't exist anymore.

configure: WARNING: unrecognized options: --with-xattr

alighieridente commented on 2024-08-24 08:31 (UTC)

I see build() is missing the --with-xattr flag. Is this intended?

It's declared in https://wiki.winehq.org/Wine-Staging_Packaging and, as an example, also in wine-staging-Fedora_40.spec (from https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/fedora/40/src/wine-staging-9.15-2.1.src.rpm).

Thanks

I'll take a closer look.

Update: Should be fixed now.

I'm also getting regular wine instead of staging with 9.14. I'm using aurutils. I've deleted the build directory to double check, it still produces ordinary wine.

I cd into wine-staging-wow64 and ran makepkg -sirc

After running winecfg, I notice normal version of wine is installed, but not staging.

wine --version wine-9.14
