It's still EOL, and I see clearly how it's broken exactly. I just clean build it and installed, no particular issues.

If this package is broken for 6 months and there seems no incentive to fix, then please fill deletion request.

@greut i understand but I still hope it saves someone's time, I no longer need this package anyway as I said several python packages had the same problem, such as python39 so whatever the reason it seems to affect all packages a bit

@Manu-sh python3.7 has reached its end-of-life status in June of this year (roughly six months ago); so it's unlikely anything will be done to fix anything here.

I get the same error for other versions of the packages (I think python36 and python39) except python38 which gave a different error..

On python37 i have got this error:

I have tried to edit the PKGBUILD disable any patch and flag and delete every time the entire folders pkg and src.. same.

Then i have added the source ~/.bashrc to the PKGBUILD... same...

By extracting the folder and manually issuing all the commands of the prepare() function with all the various patches and build() the package compiles perfectly. Typing all commands by my console works everything (except for a sed line which require the single quotes to prevent a bash expansion with the '!' character) so sed -i -e "s|^#.* /usr/local/bin/python|#!/usr/bin/python|" Lib/cgi.py it's replaced by sed -i -e 's|^#.* /usr/local/bin/python|#!/usr/bin/python|' Lib/cgi.py

i think this package has problems with the bash or python environment.

_decimal module doesn't build without the patch in python38 https://aur.archlinux.org/cgit/aur.git/tree/mpdecimal-2.5.1.patch?h=python38
